Artwork - Non-Anthro - AC 2003!

I am continuing my non-anthro art pieces for Anthrocon 2003. I will eventually get back into my anthro works and will include them under the appropriate link.

All of these will be available at AC as original artwork. Prints may come later.

This 1st group of artwork is what I call my "Silhouettes".

I wanted to try other animals besides the big cats that I have been doing of late.

This one is colored with Oil Pastels, black marker and a little chalk. I'm not really pleased with the area around the outside of the sun but it will be ok. I will learn from this one.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

I need more practice with wolves and this one works well into one of the schemes I plan on creating for AC and I like how it turned out.

Chalk and black marker.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

The 2nd theme group of artwork is what I call "Black Backgrounds".

I fell in love with this cats markings! Though it is another big cat it is differently colored and marked and I had to try my hand at it. This is my first clouded leopard.

This took me a little bit of time. It is colored with Oil Pastels and some of the detail is with Prisma colored pencils and a black marker.

After creating the jaguar so much for my son I really wanted to do some more. More practice and learning more about how they are shaped when doing different things. Like snarling! (giggles)

This one is on black construction paper colored with Oil Pastels and outlined with pencil. I used black marker for around the eyes.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

I really got a kick out of this one. The jaguar looked like he/she was just cooling off in a muddy water hole.

Since the dark coloration of the muddy water would not show up well on the black construction paper I changed the color to blue to simulate water instead.

I made the piece lighter.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

I just love how this wolf turned out. So realistic and so much better than I have done in the past!

The colorized version of this didn't start out as I hoped. I got creative. I colored it with Oil Pastels on black construction paper. I tried using a grey pastel but on the black paper it turned out more like a green. Yuck! I didn't want to really throw this piece away so I kept working with it. I then started to use the Prisma pencils on it to help out with the 'fur' appearance. I actually like how it turned out! Outlined with pencil then white Prisma pencil.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

re-scan

I didn't really have any references to go by with this one since it was 2 am when I started the sketch. I was too tired to download/look at other griffons to know what they are supposed to look like. This morning I showed it to WhiteShepherd and he suggested a couple pics to look at. Though this one needs arms, I decided to not change it. I will look at references to create a new one.

Ok, this is the first of the AC sketches to be colorized! I used Oil Pastels, pencil to outline and a black marker only around the eye.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

4-13-03

4-14-03

With this one, I was really trying to find a different medium that would show up on the black construction paper because it is difficult with the Oil Pastels.

I colored this one with Prisma pencils.

The 3rd theme group of artwork is what I call "Erased Chalks".

3-26-03

3-26-03

This is one of my "erased" art pieces. A couple of grey fox cubs. The paper is chalked, then I use an eraser to create the 'picture' and then I outlined it with an art pen.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

Another of my "erased" art pieces. These are grey fox cubs. The paper is chalked, then I use an eraser to create the 'picture' and then I outlined it with an art pen.

Another of my "erased" art pieces. This is a bald eagle flying high. The paper is chalked, then I use an eraser to create the 'picture' and then I outlined it with an art pen.

3-27-03

Another of my "erased" art pieces. This is a bald eagle soaring above the ice and snowy mountains. The paper is chalked, then I use an eraser to create the 'picture' and then I outlined it with an art pen.

3-26-03

4-13-03

I felt like doing a mare and foal this time. The paper is chalked, then I use an eraser to create the 'picture' and then I outlined it with an art pen.

4-13-03

I felt the male lion, king of the jungle, looked so sweet with one of his offspring! The paper is chalked, then I use an eraser to create the 'picture' and then I outlined it with an art pen.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

The 4th theme group of artwork is what I call "Furry Fairies".

4-1-03

4-8-03

This was the first one I created. I wanted it to look like a fennec fox. That was hard to do with the small detailing but hopefully, one can tell what it is once it is colorized.

Colored with Prisma pencils. The background is chalk.

4-5-03

4-8-03

Since I love horses, especially those with wings, you know I had to add at least one of these!

Colored with Prisma pencils. The background is chalk.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

4-6-03

4-8-03

I tried something different with this one and I really like how the tigress turned out in this one. I will have to make more of these in the future.

Colored with Prisma pencils. The background is chalk.

SOLD!

4-6-03

4-10-03

This one is of a wolf, which I need to work some more on its head and a unicorn-fairy. They just seemed to go together for some reason.

SOLD!

4-6-03

4-9-03

The red foxes. I know a lot of folks like foxes so I had to do at least one of the pics with fox fairies/pixies in it.

Colored with Prisma pencils. The background is chalk.

4-7-03

4-9-03

I know there are a lot of lion lovers out there so I created this one for them. When I was looking at the photo of the flower it just seemed to 'look' like a male lion so that is what I went with here. I also didn't want to leave out the main supporter of the male, his mate!

Colored with Prisma pencils. The background is chalk.

The 5th group of artwork is what we call "Single Colors".

5-28-03

5-31-03

5-31-03

I was looking for some new ideas by looking at some other artists artwork. This is one of the ideas I came up with. I really enjoyed looking at the 'wing tutorial' that BlackUniGryphon posted on her website. With those 'tips' of hers in my mind, this was the creation I came up with.

With some suggestions from Sumarra, I added a piece of the other wing. That was not an easy task to do!

Colored with Prisma pencils.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

6-1-03

6-3-03

A cute little winged red foxette!

Colored with Prisma pencils.

6-5-03

6-5-03

This is my first Badger. This one is the honey badger. Boy, reading up on these fellas, really makes me want to draw them as something having a rather nice personality! (giggles)

Colored with Prisma pencils.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

6-1-03

6-6-03

I really liked how this one turned out. She seems so, sensual but not too forward. Someone more likely to be seen in someone's dreams.

Colored with Prisma pencils.

6-8-03

6-10-03

This is my first Skunk! I'm not too sure of his face but I will keep working on it till I am satisfied with it.

Prisma pencils.

SOLD at Anthrocon 2003!

6-10-03

6-12-03

This is my first Ringtail!

Prisma pencils.

The 6th group of artwork is what we call "Furry Comedy".

5-2-03

5-6-03

The "Healing Power of a Hug". Colored with Prisma pencils.

5-2-03

5-4-03

This is one of WhiteShepherd's play on words. We have a whiteshepherd female who just loves to chase tennis balls! That is how this pic came into play. Of course, the poor lion chap just doesn't have a clue as to the females wanting to play with the tennis balls instead of him.

Colored with Prisma pencils.

5-9-03

5-10-03

I actually sketched this one out last year but wasn't happy with the face. I have had more practice with animal faces since I created the original sketch so yesterday I tried working with the face again and I really like how it turned out.

Colored with Prisma pencils.

The 7th group of artwork is what we call "No particular category."

5-10-03

5-10-03

I was inspired to create this piece from another sketch I had created and colored. I didn't like how it turned out so I sketched a completely new piece and this was the result.

Colored with Prisma pencils.

2-16-03

6-14-03

I am always taking pictures of Gene (WhiteShepherd) and his RL white german shepherd, Crystal. This art piece is just an extension of what we like doing when not working with fish!

Prisma pencils.
